Twisting Kolob Canyon Road climbs 1000 feet in just 5 miles to a pleasant picnic area and great lookout over the finger canyons of the Kolob. Along the way are some nice pull-offs and access to a few trails.

The La Sal Mountain Loop Road climbs up and along the western side of the La Sals. Along the way are picnic areas and overlooks of Arches and Canyonlands national parks and other beautiful scenery of the red rock canyon country below. Unpaved forest service roads branch off to a few alpine lakes and old mining areas.

This scenic byway takes you from the edge of Salt Lake City up into the beautiful mountain scenery of the Wasatch Mountains. Along the 11-mile drive are picnic areas and campgrounds, the ski resorts of Snowbird and Alta and access to hiking trails.

The scenic beauty of Hwy. 24 is not confined to the portion that passes through the park. Starting in Loa it passes through rolling farmland before passing through Torrey and then entering the park. East of the park the highway passes through stark and occasionally striking red rock scenery before opening into rangeland towards Hanksville. .
