More Info Beaver Creek Trail

This groomed trail provides access to the Mine, Cedar, Taylor Fork, Plantation, Pine Valley, and Pine Flats Trails. The trail is popular with beginning skiers and can be crowded on the weekends.

The Cedar Trail follows the ridge south of Beaver Creek, intersecting the Plantation Trail, descending to the Pine Valley Trail, and eventually reaching Highway 35. This unmaintained trail intersects several ATV roads that could easily be mistaken for the trail and should only be attempted by advanced users. The trail is opened to motorized use.

The Mine Trail climbs past old mines and a cabin to reach the ridge south of Beaver Creek. This unmaintained trail offers spectatcular views of Mount Timpanogos to the west. Advanced users may return to Beaver Creek Trail via the Cedar and Plantation Trails by following an off-trail route which traverses the south slope.

The Pine Valley Trail travels the western edge of Pine Valley, connecting the Beaver Creek Trail with Highway 35. This unmainatained trail provides beginners with opportunities for more solitude and more primitive travel than can be found on the Beaver Creek Trail. Pine Valley, east of the Provo River, is private property.

The Plantation Trail climbs wooded slopes to connect with the Taylor Fork and Cedar Trails. This unmaintained trail is seldom traveled and provides opportunities for solitude and views of the mountains to the north. The trail is poorly marked and difficult to follow, especially after a new snow, so users should pay close attention.

The Shingle Creek Trail follows Shingle Creek as it climbs to the head of the drainage. This unmaintained trail is steep and narrow and is only recommended for advanced users. The trail climbs past several beaver ponds through thick conifer and aspen forests and provides access to the high basins and cnayons of the western Uinta Mountains.

The Taylor Fork Trail climbs to the head of Taylor Fork. This unmaintained trail forks near the head of the drainage. The west for traverses wooded slopes to reach elevation 7945', from which advanced users may make their way down open slopes to the Beaver Creek Trail.

The Upper Setting Road begins at Coup Creek and climbs high into the western Uinta Mountains. The road is closed in the winter and provides excellent opportunities for winter recreation. This unmaintained trial is open to snowmobiles but they are rarely seen. For advanced users, the trail provides unlimited opportunites for extended exploration of the high basins and canyons of the Unitas.

More Info Yellow Pine Trail

Trail

The Yellow Pine Trail begins at Slate Creek, crosses over to Yellow Pine Creek, and climbs the Yellow Pine drainage. The first part of the trail follows an old road which leaves the main trial and turns east shortly after entering the Yellow Pine drainage. The old road is packed for snowshoers and hikers and is not recommended for skiers. The main trail to the head of the drainage is very steep, narrow, unmaintained, and recommended for advanced users only.
